This week, I lost a great friend. Captain Edward (Smallie) Maina Gatimu was a great guy who brought a lot of warm in my heart and many others. We went to high school together and I have a lot of wonderful memories of growing up to become men. Maina was one of the founding members of the Aviation Club at Moi Forces Academy with both I and Timothy Kibet.
It was with great pleasure that Maina managed to go to Australia and get an aviation degree. On Monday 9th, November 2009; his life was cut short when his Beechcraft 1900 crashed at Wilson Airport after having developed mechanical problems on the way to Modagishu, Somalia. Story Here.
